Our trucking career started in 2020 during the pandemic. I was an OTR driver for Roehl Transportation based in Marshfield, WI. I then moved on to U.S. Express for the Target Distribution Center in Lugoff, SC, and my final destination was with JB Hunt in Blythewood, SC. My inspiration to get into trucking came from various friends and family members, but my grandfather and uncle were my two biggest inspirations. Just seeing them drive big rigs and hearing their stories provided all the inspiration I needed.
In 2021, my fiancé and I leased our first truck, which was the greatest decision we ever made. We opted for a lease because it was the better option for us at the time, and the truck was brand new. Initially, we hauled dry vans, but for the last year and a half, we have been hauling containers. We transport all kinds of freight, from hazardous materials to forklifts. If it fits in a container, then we haul it. We drive for ourselves, focusing primarily on containers, but we definitely have plans to expand and diversify our operations.
